Area
Dianthus diutinus Kit. is an endemic species for the CarpatianBasin, it can be found only in the Duna-Tisza Interfluves Area. It is a flatland species, their habitats are located about 90-100 meter above see level. The extension of the populations are variable, but generally they are limited on fragment populations, which can be observed in more ten or in hundred meter distance from each other. Sites of the species can be found from more km to100 km from each other.
The 85 percent of the proved existing stand of nowadays is concentrated on an area not expanding more than 25-30 km2 in the KiskunságNational Park, in the area of Kiskunmajsa-Bodoglár and Bócsa. The third biggest stand is found in Duna-IpolyNational Park, in the area of Csévharaszt.
Data are even known from the region of Harkakötöny, Tázlár, Ásotthalom, Nagykőrös, Ócsa. At Fülöpháza a dozen of individual was transplanted here artificially as an experimental research.
